Trillian/Skype not connecting on Windows8 Customer Preview

My Trillian won’t connect Skype on Windows 8 Customer Preview. I fixed it by just set the compatibility mode to Windows “earlier” versions.

  1. Quit out of Trillian
  2. Find the program files folder, on mine it was in C:\Program Files\Trillian
  3. Right click trillian.exe
  4. Select Properties
  5. Click the “Compatibility tab”
  6. Check compatibility mode box and select the version of Windows you prefer. I chose Windows 7.
  7. OK
  8. Next time you run Trillian, Skype should connect and stay connected
